Who is
TheIndieOutie.com?
The Indie Outie was created by ROA Records as a way to market local
independent labels and artists to a wider audience and to give a central location for people to find out what the area has to offer besides what's on the
radio.
What is
TheIndieOutie.com?
Basically it's a site where unsigned artists and independent
labels have a larger voice to market their music. Stage one will be set
up as an online cd store and warehouse with audio samples and individual
band pages with photos. Stage two will include cd reviews, a calendar of
events and a message board. As we grow, we will be able to offer more
services.
How do I get
paid?
TheIndieOutie.com will
mail checks twice a month if there are any sales to the address you
choose.
How much do I
get?
When you send in your
cds, you choose the amount you want to get. TheIndieOutie.com will add a
$2.00 service fee (plus shipping and handling) to that amount.
Is
there a startup fee?
No, just think of us as a local record store that sells cds on
consignment.
Will
you let me know who bought my cd?
Yes. We will e-mail you customer information on every sale.
When should I
restock?
We want to be able to
have all stock ready and available whenever your fans want it so we will
notify you when we need additional cds. We will also list the number of
cds in stock on the site so you will be able to know how many cds are
left.
How long does
shipping take once someone orders a cd?
We will ship orders
within 24 hours of purchase and the mail takes from 1 to 5 days
depending on the destination.
How many cds can I
send?
We'd like to start with
5 cds. If the cds sell well, we'll ask for a larger order.
Can I sell more than one
album?
You can sell as many
different cds as you have available.
How many audio samples can I
have?
In the beginning each
album will only have one audio sample.
Can I edit my
information?
Currently we are editing
the site ourselves so if you have any information you want to add,
please send it via e-mail to admin@theindieoutie.com
with your band name and album title.
Do I have to live in Central
Florida?
Currently we are trying
to focus on the Central Florida area but we are willing to stretch the
meaning of Central Florida a little. We are considering expanding to all
of Florida but we're still pondering that idea.
Do my cds have to be professionally
manufactured?
As long as the cds are
new, clean, packaged, playable and undamaged we'll take them. cds in
paper sleeves will not be accepted.
Can I advertise my band on the
website?
Yes. We offer two kinds
of linked ads on our site. (1) Page top genre banner ads that are posted
on all the pages of a specific music genre of your choosing and (2) Page
side ads that are posted on all pages. Examples will be added soon.
What information will my band page
list?
Currently personal band
pages will have albums with cover images, a band photo, a band bio, a track listing,
an optional audio sample, label name, album description, order link, cd
price and any links you choose to list.
What if I don't fit in a
genre?
If you do not choose a specific genre from our list, you be listed in the miscellaneous "genre impaired"
section.
Do you have an FTP upload
address?
Currently we are updating the
site ourselves so we ask that you send text and images via e-mail to admin@theindieoutie.com
and send larger files on a cd in the mail.
How many outside links can I
add?
As many as you want as
long as they aren't offensive. (Work safe)
How many images can I have on my
page?
Currently only one band
image and cd cover images will be added.
Will I have a specific address for my
band?
Yes. When you send in
your cds we will e-mail you your band page address. If you have a
preference, please let us
know on the
submission
page. Example: http://theindieoutie.com/mybandpage
How many pages do I get?
Each band gets one page. If you
have a label, you can have a label page and a page for each of your artists.
What if I
don't have cds yet but I want to have a band page?
Right now we are only
listing bands that have a cd. If you have recordings, it's not that hard
to get them made into cds (you could even burn them yourself) If you
need help finding a way to get your cds made, ask us to suggest some
cheap manufacturing solutions.
Can I get my cds
back?
If at any time you want to stop
selling through TheIndieOutie.com we will send the remaining cds back to you.
